Destroyed pedestrian paths along San Tomas, an arterial road
from Williams (in San Jose) to Budd (in Campbell), a distance of 2.1 miles, in early 2007.
Before-and-after photos: plowed paths in right column.
Update: Many of these paths now exist again (as of 2010). The reason claimed for destruction was weed control, but this was a violation of existing County policy that required pedestrian paths along the "entire expressway system." [since superceded by 2009 Plan].
